This weekend has been a lazy one for me after a long week. Dentists poking at my teeth, doctors examining every inch of me, an endless amount of paperwork to be filed at work. Where and when does it end? Besides a brief pause for Christmas and New Years, I get my next break January 23rd, 2015.
My list of Caribbean Island (nations) visited has grown longer than the list of those I haven’t. There is one group that I still have yet to see though. The “ABC Islands” Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao.
I’ll also be sailing on a familiar ship, Carnival Conquest. I’ve sailed on the sister ships of its class, Glory, Liberty, and Valor, as well as similar ships Splendor and Victory. There is one added benefit being that this is one of the ships that received Carnival’s 2.0 upgrades. That means I get to revisit Guy’s Burgers and the Blue Iguana Cantina. I can’t wait to enjoy the breakfast burritos and then burgers for lunch. While the bars were fine before the upgrades were done, the Red Frog and Blue Iguana bars will be more welcome sights. The cabin I have booked is one of Carnival’s well-known 1As on deck 1. I will be among the very lowest, forward cabins.
I have not yet made any decisions on what to do in the ports yet, and might decide to just wing-it. I do have another go at Chef’s Table planned for the time on the ship.
This is also my first booking through a travel agent. The process has been excellent and expect another post on that topic in the future.
Thats all for now!
