Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

2013 was an excellent year for getting away. I visited Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Haiti, Barbados, St. Thomas, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, and St. Maarten. I cruised on Carnival and Royal Caribbean International ships. There was a visit to my Grandfather’s place in St. Simon’s Island in Georgia as well.

2014 is going to be even better!

In March, I’ll be staying in Miami, Florida for Ultra Music Festival. There will be a 5 day cruise following with stops in Grand Turk, Nassau, and Half Moon Cay.

Carnival has won me over, yet again. I had no intention of booking a cruise with Carnival for fall/winter 2014, but a certain cruise opened-up that I couldn’t say no to. Carnival Splendor which had been sailing from New York, will be repositioned this fall. It will operate two separate cruises along the way to get to its new home port, Miami. Repositioning cruises are excellent as the ships will stop in ports that tend to be visited less often. Over the 2 cruises, the rare ports include:
-St. Johns, Antigua
-Christiansted, St. Croix
-Fort-de-France, Martinique
-St. Georges, Grenada
-Roseau, Dominica

I booked the second leg of the cruise which features this itinerary:
November 1st, 2014
Sat -San Juan, Puerto Rico, departs 10pm
Sun -St. Croix 8-4
Mon -Martinique 10-6
Tue -Grenada 8-4
Wed -Dominica 8-4
Thu -At Sea
Fri -Grand Turk 9-5
Sat -At Sea
Sun -Miami, arrive by 8am
November 9th, 2014

I really don’t like to rush my life away, but it will be very difficult waiting for this cruise. This also means I’ll get to be in San Juan, Puerto Rico for Halloween. Sweet! I also like the idea of arriving back in good ol’ mainland USA as transportation to/from Southern Florida is easier than Puerto Rico when it comes down to wanting to get back home. It just feels like I’m sort-of home already. Either way, a trip is a trip!

This is going to be one awesome year!
